This Privacy Policy describes how AI Online Notepad (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the website and the online notepad application.
How notes are stored
By default, every note you create is saved to your browser using HTML5 local storage. The data lives on your device. We do not transmit note content to our servers, and we do not require an account to use the editor.
If you clear your browser storage, switch browsers, or use private/incognito mode, your notes will not appear in the new context. Use the export feature to back up notes as a JSON file.
Local storage explanation
Local storage is a small key-value store inside your browser. We use it to persist:
- Your notes (titles, content, pinned/locked state, timestamps).
- Your active note ID, so the editor restores where you left off.
- Your settings (font size, auto-save toggle, theme preference).
You can clear this data at any time from the Settings dialog or from your browser settings.
User data handling
We do not collect, sell, rent or share the content of your notes. We do not run server-side analytics on note text. If you optionally export notes, the export file is generated entirely in your browser.
Cookies
The site itself does not require cookies for the notepad to function. If you visit the blog or interact with embedded third-party widgets (for example advertising or analytics), those services may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.
Advertising
Some pages may display advertisements served by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. Those networks may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising via the Google Ads Settings page.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. The optional password lock uses SHA-256 hashing in the browser before any check is performed; we never see your password. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date for additional security.
No selling user data
We do not sell user data. We do not build advertising profiles from note content.
Children
The service is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has shared personal information, please contact us and we will take prompt action.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will reflect the most recent change. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
